SHORTLISTED FOR THE MIDLANDS FAMILY BUSINESS OF THE YEAR AWARDS

We are delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted for the Midlands Family Business of the Year Awards for Commitment to the Community, and as the Fastest Growing Family Business of the Year for the Midlands , sponsored by Aviva.
We are meeting with the judging panel on 23rd September, which is being led by the founder of St Tropez. The Awards Ceremony will be held at Thrumpton Hall on 11th November 2010.
This is the biggest awards we have entered and is a great achievement to recognise all the community work we do.

Flowers by Suzanne were invited by the Events Team at the Lincolnshire Show ground to provide flowers for the Corporate hosting areas of the Epic Centre this year. The flowers and the show were a great success.
We were also invited to provide Flowers for Corporate entertainment marquees at the Waddington International Air Show this year which again proved to be a great success with very satisfied customers.

AWARD WINNER’S BUSINESS IS BLOOMING

The overall winner of this year’s Newark Business Awards is Flowers by Suzanne.
The company was named Business of the Year 2009 in front of more than 300 people at Kelham Hall on Wednesday.
The overall winner award was announced by guest speaker Nick Hewer, Sir Alan Sugar’s right-hand man in BBC television’s The Apprentice.
Flowers by Suzanne has continued to grow at a rapid pace since it opened in Newark in 2008.
While understanding that satisfied customers generate return business, Flowers by Suzanne also knows that exceeding a customer’s expectations with great products and services generates a buzz and quality referral business. Turnover has more than doubled in the last year, generating a healthy profit.
Their award, sponsored by the Advertiser, was presented by Nick Hewer and the Advertiser’s managing director, Miss Joanna Parlby. It was accepted by Flowers by Suzanne director, Mark Hollingworth, and business manager Jennifer Clarke.
Mark Hollingworth said Newark was a great place to do business, and thanked Newark Business Club for its support.
He also paid tribute to the Flowers by Suzanne staff.
“We have a great team of florists who work very hard and we are so proud of them,” he said.

Flowers by Suzanne florist, Vicky Woods sweeps the board at the Interflora Florist of the Year regional heats with a 1st and a 3rd place for her table design and body adornment.
Vicky who manages the Newark branch said ‘It felt amazing to win with such a high score; it made all the hard work worth it’ Vicky, who has also entered the Chelsea Flower Show Florist of the Year has a Foundation Degree in Floristry Design from Nottingham Trent University and a BTEC National Certificate in Floristry.
Vicky’s table design was inspired by a classic wedding cake shape decorated with white calla lilies an
d dendrobium orchid. Dried Honesty seed pods painstakingly glued to the three tiers of the design with soft lemon phalaenopsis orchids as the focal flower on the top tier.
Vicky now goes forward to the next round of the Interflora Florist of the Year where she will be required to produce a fascinator design under timed conditions.

LOCAL FLOWER COMPANY BEATS CHELSEA GOLD MEDAL WINNER
IN FLOWER HEAD TO HEAD

Robert Stubbs of Lincoln’s leading florists, Flowers by Suzanne, was selected by Interflora to go head to head with a Chelsea Gold Medal Winner for the Interflora LIVE internet floristry competition. Robert was voted by the watching public and fellow florists as the winner after creating a fantastic hand tied of flowers against the clock.
Michael Barringer, Marketing Director of Interflora said:
'Creating a floral design in just three minutes is a daunting prospect, but
the pressure is even greater when you have the eyes of Interflora
florists up and down the country watching in anticipation. Rob's winning design
demonstrates his talent to create superb design work, irrespective of time
pressures!'
Robert is Flowers by Suzanne’s senior wedding consultant but also demonstrates for Interflora across the UK. This year he will be designing the Interflora Spring collection for 2010 as well as entering the Chelsea 2009 in the floristry show.
